Privacy Policy

What we collect, who sees it, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it.

Last updated 8 October 2026

The short version

We collect your clothes from your door and bring them back. To do that we need to know your name, your phone number and where you live. That is very nearly everything we hold.

There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking in this app — not switched off, not installed. We never see a card number, because there is no card: you pay the driver in cash or by CliQ at the door. The app cannot read your location when it is closed; that is blocked in the build itself, not by a setting. And you can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app.

Who we are

Go DryClean is a dry-cleaning pickup and delivery service in Amman, Jordan. It is a one-person business, run by an individual rather than a company. The same person reads the support mailbox, runs the office system and hires the drivers. When this page says we, that is who it means.

Write to us at support@drycleanjo.com.

1 What we collect, and why

Everything below is something you typed, tapped or were charged. We do not buy data about you, and nothing is gathered in the background.

Your account

So we know who to call and how to let you back in.

  • Your name. Required. It is what the driver sees on the job for your building, so they know who they are meeting.
  • Your phone number. Required, and it is your sign-in — there is no password on a customer account. It is also how the driver reaches you when they are downstairs.
  • Your email. Optional, and you can leave it blank with nothing breaking. We do not send email from the app, so today it only appears next to your name in the office system.
  • A referral code, if a friend gave you one, and your language and notification preferences.

Your addresses

So a driver can find a door in Amman, which is harder than it sounds.

  • Area, street and building. Floor, apartment and a landmark if you add them.
  • The note you write for the driver — "blue gate", "call when you arrive", "leave it with the guard". The driver reads it. That is what it is for.
  • A map pin, only if you ask for one. If you tap Locate me and allow location, we store the coordinates to six decimal places — precise enough to point at a doorway rather than at a street. If you never tap it, we never have it, and the address still works.

Your orders

So we can run the job, price it, and answer you about it afterwards.

  • The items, quantities and prices, whether it was express, any promo code, and the pickup and delivery times.
  • Care notes you type on an item — "stain on the left cuff", "don't press the pleats".
  • A frozen copy of the address as it was when you placed the order, including your note to the driver and the pin. This copy belongs to the order, so editing or deleting the address afterwards does not change what the driver was told on the day.
  • Who drove it — the driver's name, phone, vehicle and plate are attached to your order so you can see who is coming.
  • Your rating and the comment you leave, if you leave one.

What you paid at the door

So the books balance, and so we can answer "I already paid that".

  • Every handover is recorded on its own: cash or CliQ, the amount, which driver took it, the time, and a note if there was something to say.
  • For CliQ, the driver types in the transaction reference you read off your own banking app, so the transfer can be matched to the order.
  • That reference is the only bank-related thing we hold. No IBAN, no account number, no bank name, no card.

When you report a problem

So we can fix it.

  • Which order, what kind of problem, and what you write about it.
  • There is no photo upload. If a picture helps, email it to support@drycleanjo.com.

If you claim the free first order

So the number you sign in with gets its first order free.

  • The mobile number you type on drycleanjo.com/free — or, if we sent you the offer ourselves, the number we sent it to — and when it was saved. Nothing else is kept with it: no name and no address.
  • It is used for one thing: making that number's first order free when it signs in to the app. We never text or call a number because it was typed there.
  • If you delete your account after ordering with us, we keep only a one-way coded form of the number, not the number itself, until 12 months after the offer ends, so the free first order only goes to numbers that have not ordered before.

Housekeeping

Small things the service needs to work correctly.

  • Loyalty points, lifetime savings and your own referral code.
  • A short-lived copy of the request that placed an order, kept so that a lost signal and a retry cannot book you twice. It contains a copy of the order, including the address, and it goes when your account goes.
  • Ordinary server logs, which include the internet address your phone connected from. See How long we keep it.
If you start signing up and stop

When you ask for a sign-in code, we store the number you gave, the name and email you typed on the way in, and a scrambled copy of the code. If you never finish, those details stay with us — there is no account to attach them to, and nothing clears them on a schedule today. We will delete them the day you ask: support@drycleanjo.com.

2 Permissions, and what happens if you say no

The app asks for two things. You can refuse both and still book, track and receive an order.

Location — only while the app is open

"Go DryClean uses your location to place the pickup pin on your building so the driver finds you quickly."
  • It is used once, when you tap Locate me on the address form. We take one reading, drop the pin, and use it to pre-fill the street and area so you type less.
  • If you refuse: you type the address yourself and everything else works exactly the same. The app does not nag you and does not ask again on its own.
  • Background location is blocked in the build, on both Android and iOS. This is not a preference we could quietly change — the permission is refused at the point the app is compiled. The app cannot know where you are when it is not open.
  • One thing must be said plainly: turning coordinates into a street name is done by your phone's operating system, which sends the coordinates to Apple on an iPhone or to Google on an Android phone. It happens only when you tap Locate me. Nothing about you goes with them — no name, no number, no order.

Photos and camera

  • The app does not ask for your photo library or your camera. There is no screen that uploads a picture and none that takes one.
  • If a photo would help with a problem report, email it to support@drycleanjo.com with your order number.

Notifications

  • Android asks whether the app may show notifications. If you allow them, your phone is issued a notification token — an address for that one handset, minted by Expo's push service — and we store it alongside the language you read in, so a message arrives written in it.
  • We use it for your order and nothing else: we have your clothes, they are cleaned and coming back, the driver is on the way, delivered, cancelled. There is no marketing push.
  • If you decline, no token is ever created and there is nothing to store. The switches in Settings turn the messages off without touching your account.

Never asked for

Microphone — blocked in the build, like background location. Contacts. Calendar. Health. Motion and fitness. The app requests none of them, and there is no screen that could use them.

3 What we never collect

These are not intentions. They are facts about what is installed in the app and on the server — there is nothing to switch off, because nothing is there.

  • No analytics. No Google Analytics, Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment or anything like them. We cannot see which screens you open or how long you spend on them.
  • No crash reporter. No Sentry, no Crashlytics. If the app crashes, we find out because you tell us. One narrow exception: if the map fails to load, the app reports that it failed — the screen it happened on and the error text. It carries your account id and nothing else about you, and it is written to our server's log rather than stored in the database.
  • No advertising and no attribution. No ad network, no install tracking, no marketing pixel. We do not know where you heard about us unless you type a referral code.
  • No cross-app tracking. The app never shows the iPhone "allow tracking" prompt, because it never asks for your advertising identifier. It cannot follow you into another app or across the web.
  • No card details. Not a card number, not a CVV, not an expiry date — anywhere, ever. Card payment is switched off entirely in this version of the app, and our server refuses any request that so much as looks like it is carrying a card number.
  • No bank account details. A CliQ transaction reference, and nothing else.
  • No age or date of birth. There is no such field anywhere in the system.
  • No photo of you, no contacts, no microphone, no location while the app is closed.
  • Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising. We have never sold personal data, never given it to a data broker, and will not. If that ever changes it would need your consent first, and this page would say so before it happened.

4 Who can see your data

Your driver

The driver who collects your clothes sees your address. That is not a leak — it is the service. But the driver app was built to hand over as little as it can, as late as it can:

  • The day's list shows a name, a time window, an area, the number of items and the amount to collect. No phone number. No street. No map pin. A round of forty stops is not an export of our customer book.
  • The rest is one tap, one order at a time. Opening your job shows your phone number, the full address with your note and the pin, and the care notes on your items — because the driver at your door needs all of it.
  • The list is limited to three days either side of today. A driver cannot step the date backwards through last month and read off every customer they ever carried. This limit exists for that reason and no other.
  • A driver cannot open an order that was never assigned to them. They can, however, reopen an order that was assigned to them, however long ago — so a driver who has served you before can still see that order.
  • Drivers are hired people, not contractors we pass a database to. They see what the app shows them and nothing else.

The owner

One person runs the office system, and that person can see everything: your name, phone and email, every address you have saved, every order with its notes and ratings, the record of every cash and CliQ collection, and anything you wrote to support. There is no larger staff, no outsourced call centre and no second company with a login.

Outside the business

There are seven. Each one is narrow, and each is here for a reason:

  • Apple or Google, when you tap Locate me, to turn coordinates into a street name. Coordinates only.
  • Google's maps service, when you type in the address search box. The words you type, and the coordinates of a pin you drop, go to Google to come back as a suggestion or a street name. They are sent from our server, without your name, your phone number or your account — and we do not keep a log of what you searched for.
  • OpenStreetMap and CARTO, which draw the map when your phone's own map is not available. They serve the map squares, so they can see which part of Amman is on your screen and the internet address your phone is using. Not who you are.
  • The mobile network or SMS company that carries your sign-in code. They see the number the message is going to and the message.
  • Expo, and Apple's or Google's notification services, which carry a notification to your phone. They see the token for your handset and the words of the message — your order reference and what just happened to it.
  • Telegram. This is the widest one, so read it properly. When you place an order, cancel one, or open an account, the office is alerted through a Telegram bot, and that alert carries your name, your phone number, your customer number, the items, the total and your area. It is how one person running a laundry finds out a job has come in. Telegram carries the message to the owner's phone and keeps it in that chat.
  • The company that hosts our server and database. Any hosting company can technically reach the data it stores. It is contracted to run the machine, not to use what is on it.

That is the list. No advertisers, no data brokers, no analytics companies, no marketing agency, no other app.

We would also hand over data if a Jordanian court or a competent authority lawfully required it — and only then, and only what was actually required.

5 How long we keep it

The honest answer

We do not delete your account, orders or addresses on a timer. There is no job on our server that clears old orders, old addresses or old accounts after a year, or after any other period. If you have an account, we still have your first order. It stays until you delete your account or ask us to remove it.

We would rather write that than invent a retention schedule we do not actually run. Specifically:

  • Your account, addresses and order history — kept until you delete your account.
  • The record of what you paid at the door — kept for as long as the order is, as the business's own accounting record. A mistaken entry is cancelled with a written reason rather than erased, so the books can always be explained.
  • Sign-in codes — five minutes, then they expire, and they are stored scrambled rather than readable in the first place.
  • Details left behind by an unfinished sign-up — kept until you ask us to remove them. See section 1.
  • A free-first-order claim (the number typed on drycleanjo.com/free, or the one we sent the offer to) — the one thing we do delete on a timer: 90 days after it was made, if it was not used. A used claim stays with the order it was used on. If you delete your account after ordering with us, whether or not you claimed, we keep only a one-way coded form of the number, not the number itself, until 12 months after the offer ends, so the free first order only goes to numbers that have not ordered before.
  • Server logs — these record requests, including the internet address you connected from. We have not set a fixed period: they are kept until our hosting rotates them away. We do not mine them, and they are not linked to anything for marketing.

6 Getting a copy, a correction, or a deletion

A copy of what we hold

There is no download button in the app — we would rather say so than pretend. Email support@drycleanjo.com from the address on your account, or write from the phone number you sign in with, and we will put together everything we hold about you and send it within 30 days. A real person does this by hand.

Correcting something

You can change your name and email yourself in Profile → Edit profile, and add, change or remove addresses any time in Addresses. To change the phone number on your account, email us — it is your sign-in, so we do it by hand after checking it is you.

Deleting your account

In the app: Settings → Delete my account. It asks you twice, because it cannot be undone. When you confirm, the account is deleted immediately — not queued, not marked for review.

It takes with it:

  • your profile — name, phone, email, preferences;
  • every saved address, including your notes to the driver and any pin;
  • your whole order history, the care notes and ratings on it, and the record of every cash and CliQ payment recorded against those orders;
  • anything you sent to support, your loyalty points and referral code;
  • every signed-in session, so any other phone is signed out;
  • the details left behind when you signed up with that number.

Two things can survive, and you should know about them before you tap. If a referral commission has ever been paid out — one you earned, or one somebody earned for referring you — the record of that payment keeps the name and customer number written on it. It is a record of money that changed hands, and we keep it the way a receipt is kept. And if you have ordered with us, we keep a one-way coded form of your phone number — not the number itself — until 12 months after the free first order offer ends, so that offer only goes to numbers that have not ordered before. Nothing else about you remains.

Please read this before you tap it

Deleting your account also deletes our copy of your orders and payments. If you later want a receipt, want to query an amount a driver collected, or want to raise a complaint about a job, we will have nothing to look at. It cannot be undone and we cannot restore it. If you only want to stop using the service, you can simply stop — you do not have to delete anything.

If you cannot get into the app — lost the number, changed phones, cannot receive the code — email support@drycleanjo.com. We will check the request is genuinely yours and delete the account within 7 days.

The same address works if you never had an account and want the details from an unfinished sign-up removed.

7 How it is protected

  • There is no customer password to steal. You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. The code is never stored in a readable form — we keep a scrambled version, compare against that, and it expires in five minutes, works once, and allows five wrong attempts before it is dead. You can request at most five codes an hour.
  • Your sign-in tokens live in the phone's secure store — the Keychain on iPhone, the Keystore on Android — not in ordinary app storage, and only on that one device.
  • The app refuses to talk to an unencrypted server. Outside a developer's own machine it will not send anything over a plain connection, so your address is not travelling over café Wi-Fi in the clear.
  • Signing out really ends the session. We store only a scrambled form of your session token, so logging out invalidates the one your phone is holding.
  • Staff accounts are separate from customer accounts and are held to a different standard: a real password, stored with a modern password-hashing algorithm (Argon2id), with a switch that can invalidate every staff session at once. No customer sign-up can create a staff account.
  • The order and money trail cannot be quietly edited. The database itself refuses to change or delete an event once written. A cash collection entered in error is cancelled with a written reason, never deleted.
  • Sensitive values are kept out of our logs — sign-in codes, authorisation tokens and the like are stripped before anything is written down, and phone numbers in the sign-in log are masked to the last four digits.

Two honest caveats. Your name, phone and email are also cached in ordinary storage on your own phone so the app can draw your profile instantly; that copy is on your device, not ours, and is cleared when you sign out. And this is a one-person business — we are careful, but no system is beyond failure. If data of yours is ever exposed, we will tell you what happened and what was involved, and we will report it as Jordanian law requires.

8 Children

This is a dry-cleaning service. It is not aimed at children, there is nothing in it for children, and we do not ask anyone's age — there is no date-of-birth field anywhere in the system, so we are not quietly holding one.

Accounts are meant for adults, since an order means a driver at a door and money changing hands. If you believe a child has created an account, email support@drycleanjo.com and we will delete it and everything on it.

9 Changes to this page

The date at the top is the only version marker, and it always tells you when this last changed. If we start collecting something new, or a new company gets involved in handling your data, we will say so at the top of this page before it begins, and in the app.

We cannot email you about it, because we do not send email. If you want to know what a previous version said, ask and we will send it.

10 The law that applies

We operate in Amman and Jordanian law governs this page, including the Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023. The courts of Amman have jurisdiction.

That law gives you the right to know what we hold, to get a copy of it, to have mistakes corrected, to have it deleted, and to withdraw your consent — and sections 4 to 6 above say exactly how to use each of those rights with us. Email us first: it is one person and you will get a real answer. If we do not resolve it, you may complain to the data protection authority at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
